We are a seeking a passionate and dedicated Chef de Partie with creative flair to join our Kitchen Team.

Maintaining a focus on "market to plate" where we plan, prepare and create seasonal food and drinks with sound techniques and a respectful approach to ingredients.

Utilising a variety of local produce, you will be responsible for creating an array of scrumptiously presented dishes across lunch and dinner service periods.

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will assist in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, whilst being involved with menu development, training and guidance to our passionate and friendly team. You will be hands on in your approach, show flair for modern Australian cuisine, be hungry to learn and expand on your culinary dexterity.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Being responsible for handling of a la carte cooking service

  • Ensuring that all food preparation tasks assigned are carried out in a timely fashion

  • Striving for continuous improvement

  • Maintaining a high standard within the food hygiene guidelines

  • A confident and creative cooking style with a strong emphasis on consistency and presentation

  • Assist in stock control and ordering

  • Work within a team and run your own section

 The successful applicant will have:

  • Previous experience in a comparative role

  • A broad knowledge of the food industry and a passion for food

  • Experienced in both classical and modern cooking techniques

  • Experience in a la carte and function production work

  • An understanding of local and regional produce

  • An understanding of food cost and control

  • A flexible approach in adapting to guest requests

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • An ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team environment

  • Good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to motivate a service team through your passion for food
