Job Description

This is a landmark hotel, with enormous patronage 7 days a week.  Various bars, food outlets, gaming, bottle shop, events and live bands; it’s simply a beast.

The role of the General Manager is to lead and co-ordinate all aspects of venue management and to support the managers and the team to deliver the venue experience to customers whilst meeting business objectives.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Lead a dynamic and motivated team of bar, restaurant, gaming and bottle-shop managers
  • Deliver all HR requirements for a business with over 70 staff, including recruiting, training and coaching
  • Oversee all operational requirements of the business in conjunction with bar, venue & gaming managers, including marketing, security, entertainment, maintenance and financial management
  • Manage and deliver business financial objectives and report to Group Executive Managers
  • Create and instil a culture of superior service; seeing the clientele return for more

You must have:

  • Proven ability in leading and managing a large and dynamic team
  • Proven track record in hitting sales targets and adhering to labour budgets
  • Excellent operational skills from a high volume multi-facet venue
  • A deep understanding of genuine hospitality and service excellence
  • Diverse hospitality industry experience
  • 'Hands on' managerial approach with a participative leadership style
  • Ability to share your knowledge, manage, motivate and mentor staff
  • Ability to effectively build partnerships and working relationships
  • High level interpersonal skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong task management including demonstrated ability to work flexibly within tight schedules and in accordance with variable work load
