This is an outstanding opportunity for a Head Chef to join one of Sydney's well-regarded hotel groups. We are looking for an experienced Head Chef – to take ownership of running the soon to be completed, fully appointed and renovated kitchen.
This hotel gets very busy – 500 to 700 covers on weekends. We want a chef who has strong experience in a quality high volume environment; someone that can handle the pressure. You and your team will be in charge with supplying food to a 200-seat dining space plus supplying food to other bar & dining areas around the venue.
If successful in securing this job, you will be responsible for managing the kitchen operations, menu design and setting the highest possible benchmark in quality and presentation. It's expected that you will be highly proficient in preparing modern ‘on trend’ cuisine; and be able to see the menu evolve; as and when need be.
This is a very hands-on role. You will be doing a minimum of 50 hours a week on what will be a rotating roster; therefore you will be required to work on some evenings, weekends and even the occasional public holiday.
This position is for the serious chef who is seeking an opportunity to join this company for the long term; building up a strong team around you. To create a simple yet select menu (lots of good proteins and delicious salads), using local produce; keeping the volume and quality of food output at the highest of standards.
