We are looking for an experienced and qualified Pastry Chef to drive and support our pastry team. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 2 years fine dining experience and will be assisting the Head Chef in executing a high-quality product.
Working closely with your team, assisting in the day-to-day operations of the bakery and pastry section. The Pastry Kitchen is an integral part of the restaurant, with preparations including, chocolate, bread, pastries, bistro classics and fine dining dishes.
The position is full time and shifts will include weekend and evening work. Applicants should have resident status or hold an appropriate Australian work visa.
- Preparing and baking breads
- Assist with ordering ingredients and equipment
- High level execution of dessert production
- General pastry work
- Maintain an operational and hygienic kitchen
- Manage and train pastry kitchen staff
- Reporting of production and equipment issues
- Comply with sanitation and safety standards
- Preparing and plating desserts in accordance with the existing menus
- Decorate cakes and baked goods according to requirements
- Chocolate work
- Operating baking equipment
- Inspect the quality of the ingredients and measure them for specific recipes
- Cleaning equipment and utensils and maintains your section in a clean and tidy order
- Assisting in the development of menu ideas
