About the role:
Opportunity to work in a newly renovated hotel in Surry Hills. This hotel has a new design, modern cocktail bar and small kitchen upstairs, serving modern Asian style tapas food with a funky twist, as well as a good steak.
This role will best a strong Sous Chef ready to step up and become the Head Chef. Build your team from scratch - will have the support of 3 other chefs in the kitchen; this venue is only a 70-seater. This is an amazing opportunity to work in a successful and growing group of hotels.
As a self-motivated, passionate and focused individual you will possess the following attributes:
- Experience in a comparable role running a small kitchen as a Sous / Senior Sous / Head Chef
- Strong modern funky Asian cooking experience
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Command respect and hard work in the kitchen
- Team player who is able to work flexible hours, both weekends and evenings
- Maintain high kitchen standards
- Assist in the efficient running of kitchen operations
- Mentor and assist training apprentices
- High food standards in taste and presentation
- Solid wage management, stocktake and GP monitoring skills.
